At Strawberry Paws, we love sharing the adventures and happy moments we spend with your pets. This policy outlines how we use photographs and videos and how we protect your privacy.
1. Purpose of Photography
We take photos and videos of the pets in our care for two main reasons:
- Client Updates: To send to you via WhatsApp or email so you can see what your pet has been up to.
- Marketing: To showcase our services on the Strawberry Paws website and social media platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram).
2. Consent and Authorisation
- Opt-In: We will only post photos of your pet on social media if you have provided authorisation on the New Client Information Form.
- Withdrawal of Consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you see a photo you would like removed, please let us know, and we will delete it immediately.
3. Privacy and Security Protocols
We recognise that the security of your home is paramount. To ensure your privacy, we adhere to the following rules:
- No Identifying Markers: We will never post photos that show your house number, street name, car registration, or any identifiable landmarks that could give away your location.
- Home Interior: When taking photos during home visits or pet sitting, we ensure that no sensitive information (such as family photos, expensive electronics, or documents) is visible in the background.
- Tags and Names: We will only use your pet’s name in captions. We will never tag a Client in a post or use a Client’s full name without express permission.
4. Intellectual Property
- Ownership: All photographs and videos taken by Strawberry Paws during the course of our duties remain the intellectual property of Strawberry Paws.
- Client Use: Clients are more than welcome to share or repost photos we have taken of their pets for their own personalised social media use!
5. Respecting Nervous Pets
- If a pet is particularly nervous or easily distracted, we will prioritise their comfort over getting a “perfect shot.” We will never force a pet to pose or stay in a position that causes them distress just for a photograph.
6. Third-Party Use
- We will never sell your pet’s images to third-party stock photo sites or use them for external advertising unrelated to Strawberry Paws without a separate, specific agreement.
